The incredible Cenote Dos Ojos

Cenote Dos Ojos is located in the Jacinto Pat ejido, almost in front of Xel Ha Park and 3 kilometers into the jungle. On the way to Cenote Dos Ojos there are numerous cenotes of which, all are connected via underground. Diving in Dos Ojos can be commonly mixed with diving in the cenote “The Pit” or deep cenote, named for its incredible 400 feet or 120 meters of depth.

To dive in Dos Ojos from Tulum with Dive Tulum we need to bring all the equipment already perfectly verified from our dive center, it is this that we almost went with our friends from Miami, Jeff and his incredible wife Liz both certified PADI Advanced divers. The first dive in Cenote Dos Ojos takes place in a straight line towards the barbie line, which has huge stalactites and impressive columns that have a crystalline and wonderful electric blue bottom. The dive to the Barbie Line in Dos Ojos takes us 45 minutes round trip with some passages that could be considered “caves” since for seconds it seems that no ray of the sun arrives.

The most popular cenote in the Riviera Maya

One of the main attractions of Cenote Dos Ojos is its crystal clear waters where it seems that water does not exist and you can feel how the diver floats in space and the tranquility of the sound of the bubbles that hit the ceiling of the cave.

Diving at Dos Ojos requires precise buoyancy control as some of its underground passages are narrow. The Riviera Maya has more than 1200 cenotes of which less than half are open to the public, Dos Ojos was one of the first to open due to its incredible transparency of the water.

Visits to the Dos Ojos cenote are very busy so you should make a reservation in advance to guarantee the best adventure with Fernando Davila at his DIVE TULUM diving center.
